It’s exciting when you realize it’s time to get your kendo gear! This varies from dojo to dojo, but in general, it is suggested to at least try kendo out for as many practices as your dojo (and you) are comfortable with in plainclothes.
Understanding the work and dedication that goes into kendo is good to know before making your purchases. As a sport that originated in another country that is relatively niche in America, expect that the expenses are not going to be trivial. If you want to dedicate yourself to kendo, know that your wallet is likely going to take a hit.
